Larkhall truly is one of the most delightful areas of Bath. The area has a bohemian atmosphere with local shops and places to eat and drink on the doorstep and  it is still within very easy reach of the city centre. You can visit the Roman Baths, The Thermae Bath Spa, The Assembly Rooms, The Pump Room, The Jane Austen Museum all within easy reach. Access to the beautiful West Country is also simple as you are only 10 minutes from the M4. Bath is a very good location for exploring further afield, if you are touring the UK. Bristol Airport is only 45 minutes away and there are regular airport buses. Stonehenge is 45 minutes away and the beautiful Jurrassic Dorset Coast is only about an hours drive. So day trips are easy from this central location.

Unique to the area there is a first class, award winning butchers, selling locally reared meat. The sausages are amazing and they sell fresh fish on Fridays. There is a fabulous Deli 'Goodies', which has been running here for more than 25 years, a small Cooperative supermarket, two pubs: one is a traditional no frills pub and the other a newly established Gastro Pub The Rose and Crown, with a fabulous pub food menu. They do a Friday night special which is great value. and also we have 2 cafes. The Village Cafe, which is open most days for breakfasts, coffees, lunches and gorgeous homemade cakes is so close as you can see it from the house! Maya The Little Bee Cafe on London Road is great. There is also a great selection of takeaways. A Gourmet burger bar called Bear Grills which does great burgers including vegetarian and alternative meats. Thali Indian restaurant, which is a lovely family run contemporary Indian which allows you to bring your own booze and also does takeaways, plus a good Chinese takeaway. The Rose and Crown, Larkhall is an excellent Gastropub serving lunch and dinner. If you fancy a truly traditional English Pub with no frills The Larkhall Inn is great, is just over the road, super friendly and serves an excellent "pint". It also has a large beer garden where all are welcome Great for a cold beer on a sunny day. They show all the sports and all have a pool table.  Just a short energetic walk up to Camden Road will bring you to The Clarendon Pub and Pizzeria, serving stone baked pizzas, craft beers and a good range of gins. Great on a sunny day as they also have a garden.  All this literally on the door step. Additionally, there is a fabulous 'plant based eating' restaurant just a few minutes walk from the  house, called Nourish. There is The Beaufort Bookstore, which is a wonderful bookshop that hosts events and is great for children and 'Crockadoodledoo' pottery painting workshop where you can paint your own pottery, get it fired and take it home as a souvenir, if you're staying for a few days. They will also post your items. The walking route into Bath is peppered with cafes and interesting shops. For more extensive dining It's only a 20/25 minute level walk into Bath from the house, or alternatively a bus or taxi will get you there in well under 10 minutes. There's a bus stop directly opposite the house. Buses run regularly and you can now buy a group day ticket which makes hopping on and off buses to get around the city very good value. Larkhall is a thriving community on the eastern side of Bath, which offers a welcome change of pace from the city centre. People always want to come back. The truly exceptional Royal Victoria Park is also well worth a visit. You can walk through Botanical Gardens, play a game of Tennis at Excel, have fun at the Victoria Falls Crazy Golf or simply let the children pla on the some of the most excellent play equipment in the south of England. There is also a great Skate Park. for the teenagers (or Adults!) Guests feedback is always 5 star.. People want to come back. delightful place to spend time. Nearer to the house is Alice Park with Tennis Courts, grassy areas for picnics and some play equipment for the children.

The house itself is great for smaller Hen Weekends for up to 8 ladies, family gatherings, short midweek stays and special celebrations.

Amazing place

We loved our few nights in Larkhall and at Jenni's place. Larkhall is so convenient as it is a 20 minute walk to Bath and amazing shops and food just a few paces from the front door. Fresh croissants and bread for breakfast from the bakery and takeaway gourmet meals for supper. if you get a chance to go don't hesitate. thanks for everything Jenni, so glad I found your place it was a special time.

Dear Alison I’m delighted that you have had a great time and enjoyed your stay with us Best Wishes Jenni

Clean, bright and wonderful location!

Jenni was wonderful to work with and as we stayed for 5 weeks this was a huge bonus. I especially appreciated the fact that she had refrigerator/cupboard stocked with basics and wine when we arrived. The house was exceptionally clean and bright. There were 5 of us (myself, my husband and 3 daughters) and the house accommodated us all very well. We found the village location wonderful. It was nice to have the local feel of Larkhall with a great park, local artisanal shops and a CoOp within easy walking distance and the bus stop directly across the street was incredibly convenient. You can also access the canal footpath for great running and biking and walking into Bath is a level 20 minutes or so. The house was well stocked and the beds and linens we're very comfortable. Great experience in a wonderful city!

Home Away from Home

We've just come home from the best stay. We go to back every year to visit family but this has been our favourite house so far- it was cosy, well equipped and spotless. The location is great- Larkhall village is lovely and right across from a bus stop so easy access to town, though there was always parking outside too. The house came with LOADS of spare linen and towels and there were lovely touches like tea & coffee and a little welcome pack of food too. Jenni the owner was lovely to deal with and answered any queries within minutes- they really wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay- thank you Jenni, we will be back!

Jennie’s home is beautiful, cosy and convenient. Her house is situated in a gorgeous area that has a village feel which is perfect if you are looking to stay somewhere quieter and peaceful but still take advantage of all that the City centre has to offer. There are lovely local shops and cafes for convenience too. The rooms are lovely, the beds are comfy and the finishing touches make it feel really homely. Would definitely stay again!

Loved hosting you all. Maybe you can come again and bring Kim!

Great house!

We had such a warm welcome from Jenni and lots of essentials were already provided in the house such as tea, coffee, milk and bread. Little touches and a well presented house made our stay very enjoyable. 7 of us stayed in the house very comfortably and we had a fantastic time. Great location, Larkhall was a lovely little village and near enough into the town that you can walk. Jenni gave lots of useful information for our stay and as a result we had a perfect weekend for a hen do. Our highlight was definitely the recommendation of Michel Lemoine from Bistro La Barrique who provided the most delicious 3 course meal with home made chocolates in the house. Thank you very much Jenni, right from the start of making the booking I felt in the right hands. Information was given in abundance and the house was perfect. Would return if ever in the area again.

Really nice of you to say such lovely things! I take great pleasure in assisting guests in their planning and it’s always gratifying if it goes well. I’m delighted you were happy with everything and so pleased that your private chef meal went as well as I’d hoped. You would be most welcome to return any time. Thank you for coming. Hope the wedding goes well after a successful hen weekend. Good luck
